The book I have been writing and an invitation

What if the fire you are walking through right now is not an obstacle on the path — but the path itself?

You know this territory. Every one of us who has said yes to this work knows it. The opportunity that arrived disguised as a loss. The moment the old container cracked because you had outgrown it. The challenge that took something from you and handed back something you did not yet know you were capable of holding.

I want to tell you about something I have been quietly working on for the past 14 months...well, really a lifetime went into what I share in this book.

I have written a book.

On the surface, it is about pets and cancer. That is a doorway I know well — it is where I meet people on some of the hardest days of their lives, in the veterinary side of my life. But, while the book is about the pet cancer journey, it is not really about cancer at all.

It is about what happens inside a person when life presents us with a challenge that feels overwhelming, unimaginable or insurmountable.

It's about what becomes possible when we stop bracing against the challenges life presents us and start asking what they are here to open in us.

How Love — real Love, not the sentimental kind — remakes the whole shape of how we move through a day.

Excerpt from the book:

"The concepts in this book are applicable to every part of your life. Although I am using the experience of pet cancer to frame this into an actionable series of steps, they can also lead you (if you are willing and open to thinking and living differently) into a field of healing and growth that often is available to us only through the fire of challenge."

That is the Great Work.

It does not wait for us to feel ready.

It meets us in life and invites us to step forward.

Save the Date — Virtual Book Launch Party Monday, August 25 · 7:00 pm ET · Free

Hosted by Golden Acorn Press

Come celebrate with me. I will share the story of how the book came to be, and speak about what I have learned about transformation from the most unlikely of teachers. Bring your questions. Bring a friend. Details and registration coming soon.

If you would like to support this work:

Orders and reviews on Amazon matter more than most people realize — they determine how far a book travels and who it reaches. If this resonates, you can pre-order very soon here.

And if someone comes to mind as you read this — someone in the fire right now, someone who loves an animal, someone standing at the edge of something — please forward this to them. That is the truest support of all.

The fire is not the end of the story. It is where the story turns and we have the opportunity to step into our strength.
