What is the Role of a Guide in our Lineage?

Understanding How I am Here to Support You as Your Guide After Empower Thyself.

On our Mystery School path, the role of a Guide is sometimes misunderstood, so I’d like to take a moment to clearly outline what a Guide is, and what this relationship is meant to support.

According to our training through the Modern Mystery School, a Guide exists to provide guidance for Adepts on the path of initiation, while always honoring personal sovereignty and free will.

A Guide may point the way, offer perspective, and help illuminate options, but the responsibility for choice and action always remains with the individual. True initiation is not about being led. It is about becoming more fully self-directed, awake, and empowered.

As a Guide, I am continually called to do my own inner work. This includes ongoing training, self-refinement, and annual re-certification to remain in integrity with the teachings and the lineage of King Salomon. This ensures that the guidance and support offered is grounded, responsible, and aligned with a living, time-tested tradition.

After Empower Thyself, my role as your Guide centers around three primary forms of support:

Supporting You on Your Path of Progression

I am here to help you discern your best next steps on the path of initiation. Initiation opens a door, but expansion unfolds over time as you apply what you have learned.

Initiation expands your capacity to hold more Energy, Light. The degree to which you fill that expanded container with Light depends on your efforts and how you choose to move forward in your life after initiation.

As you continue forward, I support you in navigating what may serve you most as you deepen your work and move through your own process of inner alchemy. As your Guide, I may reach out periodically to see where you are in your process and make sure you are aware of the options that are available and how to take your next steps.

There will be challenging moments in any journey of healing, personal alchemy and transformation as you grow into your next level of consciousness and awareness. As your Guide, I am here to support you in that process as you do your inner work.

The Mystery School teachings and the Hermetic Principles teach us that we are always in motion. That means we are either moving forward or we are moving backward. There is, actually, no standing still. This is why our lineage highlights the importance of forward movement. That movement does not need to be fast, as we each move at our own pace and require different integration times. But when you are not moving forward, you feel that backward slide as what we often call "stagnation".

The rituals you learn in the Empower Thyself Program teach you practices you can use every day to make small, consistent steps forward and to maintain your own energy in a heightened state.

One initiate called their rituals "spiritual hygiene" and I just love that! That is exactly what you are taught in the Empower Thyself Program.

Providing Healings to Support Your Alchemical Transformation

The path of initiation catalyzes a process of transformation that unfolds through seven stages of inner alchemy. This process can feel exhilarating, clarifying, and expansive — and at times challenging — depending on what is being healed, purified, or brought into awareness.

The activations, healings, and initiations offered through this path help that process move more efficiently, while providing spiritual support as resistances, patterns, or old structures surface and release.

Healings can help you move through places you are feeling stuck, assist in re-integrating as you are becoming Whole (ie Hermetic Soul Retrieval sessions), and help you clear old patterns and reclaim lost energy (ie Isis Healings). You are welcome to consult with me about which healings may best support you based on what you are experiencing.

 Healings are never required. But they can be very helpful. Different situations require different interventions, which is the reason Guides receive training in a wide variety of healings. There are even some healings that are helpful as regular energy maintenance.

Offering Teachings that Equip You with Practical Spiritual Tools

Beyond healings and initiations, I teach lineage classes designed to give you additional skills and understanding that you can apply directly in daily life. These tools support greater upliftment, clarity, spiritual stability, and embodied transformation — not just insight, but lived change.

It is also important to clarify what a Guide is not:

Your Therapist: 

While I am here as a Spiritual Consultant, I am not a trained psychotherapist. The work we do in the lineage works below the level of the mind and emotions, at the level of your energetic blueprint or divine codes, and that is where I am trained to help redirect you. If you feel you need a therapist, your Guide is never meant to fulfill that role even though many Guides in the lineage have training in Psychology. That type of service should be sought out through appropriate specialists.

Your “Friend”:

Let me explain. First let me say, I consider all of you who have completed Empower Thyself with me Spiritual Friends. Truly. Our shared experiences on the Path of Initiation create a special connection that should not be taken for granted. It is sacred and holy. This is a very important part of our experience as we navigate life from a higher level of consciousness. Having a healthy, respectful, balanced, collegial, enjoyable, trustworthy spiritual community in which to grow and connect is very important.

Genuine spiritual progress does not happen in isolation. Nor does it happen through relationships based on attachment, dependency, or social bonding alone.

So how can we understand this correctly? There is a sanskrit term that I love, Kalyana Mitra, often translated as "spiritual friend" or "virtuous companion". While the word friend is used, its meaning is very different from a casual or personal friendship.

A Kalyana Mitra is someone who is committed to your spiritual development, not your comfort, approval, or emotional validation. Their role is to support your growth in wisdom, integrity, and ethical clarity. Even when that growth is challenging. They walk alongside you on the path, not to commiserate or indulge patterns, but to help you see clearly and progress.

A true Kalyāṇa Mitra offers guidance, perspective, and encouragement rooted in practice and lived understanding. They may share joy and difficulty, but they do not collapse boundaries or blur roles. Their care is expressed through discernment, steadiness, and truth, not emotional entanglement.

In this way, a Guide is not a friend in the conventional sense. They are a support for awakening, not a companion for avoidance. A Guide, as Kalyana Mitra, is someone aligned with your highest potential, even when that requires discomfort, responsibility, and change.

So, as your Guide, I am not here to affirm all your choices. I am not here to indulge your drama and your limiting beliefs about yourself and the world. You don't need me to do that. I am here to hold you to your highest potential, to see that in you, and to

support you in reaching it if that is what you want for yourself.

As a Guide in our lineage I have made a commitment to help you to the highest of my capacity and in integrity with my training to help you know God, both the god within and the God without. That might sometimes mean pointing out areas that you are not seeing clearly, or ways you are self-sabotaging. And sometimes that might not be easy to hear. In that sense, my primary concern cannot be whether or not you "like me". I will always be kind. I respect you and value you as a person. And I know you are capable of even more than you can imagine! I am here to help you stay aligned with the Light in your own life and to help you avoid pitfalls. Especially the ones you may not be seeing.

Perfect:

Just like you, I am actively pursuing my own personal growth all the time. That means, like you, I am in the process of perfecting myself. I hold myself to a very high standard. While I am not perfect, I do have more experience than you in certain areas, have received advanced training and am walking the path a little further ahead of you so I have a different perspective to offer and understanding to Guide you.

How Often do We Interact? 

The level of interaction we have is always based on your preferences. I will never pressure you to engage, and I will not chase after you if you choose to step back or move inward for a time. This path honors cycles of integration, solitude, and discernment.

At the same time, I may check in periodically to see how you are doing if you have previously expressed interest in this — not from obligation or expectation, but because I genuinely care about you and your well-being as you move through this process.

Some people request monthly or weekly check-ins. Others prefer to reach out for support periodically, as needed. Many choose to engage through attending classes and receiving healings to support their forward movement. Some choose not to engage at all.

What I will never do is remove your agency. I am not here to give you all the answers or tell you what to do. I am here to offer informed guidance, effective spiritual support grounded in our lineage tradition, and a steady point of reference as you navigate your own transformation.

A Guide does not replace your inner authority. A Guide helps you strengthen it.

This path is one of responsibility, discernment, and self-mastery. My role is to walk alongside you as you engage that sacred process — with respect for your free will, clarity around the terrain, and support for the level of transformation you are choosing.
